[CAMPUS GIST] Accessing the 1st semester achivements of the 2018/2019 SOSSA Excos, championed by comr. Camelius Alkali Tsenwan

Anyone who is conversant with social sciences student association (SOSSA) will know that over the years this association has experience some major setbacks especially in the area of good governance, transparency, selflessness, accountability, effectiveness and concerns as regards to the general welfare of it members. The members of this association being tired of ineffective representation took a bold step on the 18th February to vote in leaders who are humble, patriotic, and with the heart to uplift SOSSA making SOSSAITES well being a priority. After accessing the needs of SOSSAITES, the team restoration decided to focus on the following key areas which are of importance to members of the association and it asked at restoring the lost glory of SOSSA. This achievement include; 1. PRICE REGULATIONS SOSSITEs over the years have been yearning for the reduction in the unstable and high prices of some products sold within the faculty environment such as soft drinks and snacks. . This adminstration with immediate effect approached the relevant bodies directly affected through the welfare secretary, and within a short period of time the price of the products were succesfully reduced to the normal price as sold outside the campus. Now every SOSSAITES can pick a bottle of beverage for #100 and #120 respectively which were earlier sold at #120 and #150 2. SIGN POST For easy access and direction, a new sign board was mounted at the entrance of the faculty 3. FACULTY GENERATOR Struggling during registration has been a major concern of SOSSAITES, as this often delayed and slowed down the processes. this administration with this concern at heart deem it fit to buy a generator for a constant power supply in the faculty which will enhance the process registration. 4 THE PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEMS SOSSA have five prestigious departments including Sociology, Criminology, Economics , political science and psychology. This departments have at least 150 students in each levels. This departments at some point do certain courses together in a class of over 500 students, hearing the yearnings of students, this adminstration got a public address system for every of the department to enhance the learning of it members. 5. VC's Cup After a very long time, The social sciences faculty became the champion of the university of jos biggest football tounarment of 2019. The Succes no doubt is as a result of the quest to restore SOSSA back championed by the team restoration.
  6. RELAXATION SPOT. For the first time, SOSSA have a befitting relaxation spot at the faculty environment..This is a response to the social well being of the SOSSAITES and to enable them learn in relaxed and conducive environment. Other achievements recorded by the team restoration after the first semester in office include t - the purchase of the Sossa Jersey to enhance the sport lives of SOSSAITES -The organization of a successful event to welcome the newly admitted students of the faculty which had over a thousand students in attendance - To enhance the academic well being of sossaites, this administration bought writing materials which are distributed to all the class Representatives of every department in the faculty. - Sossa sourvenir which is an annual project and is ready for collection. Perhaps these achievements wouldn't have been possible without the support of SOSSITEs, you are great! Congratulations for a successful examination, and for the 100 level and direct students who awaits their General studies courses, SOSSA wish you success.
